This year, WGS has proudly taken part in the Rotary Club Shoebox Scheme, an initiative that sends boxes of gifts to children, teenagers, families and elderly individuals in Eastern Europe. The scheme provides a wonderful opportunity to spread kindness and support communities facing hardship.
Pupils and staff worked together using the Rotary Club’s guide of suggested contents for the different types of boxes, choosing items such as small toys, stationery, toiletries, warm accessories and household essentials.
Thanks to the dedication of our Charity Committee, along with support from the wider school community, we are thrilled to announce that 150 shoeboxes were filled and donated this year. Each box represents a moment of joy for someone who may otherwise receive very little.
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to everyone who contributed items, helped pack boxes, or supported the appeal in any way. Your kindness will make a meaningful difference to people across Eastern Europe this winter.
