6th Form Admissions (16 – 18)
We understand that choosing the right 6th Form is a big decision and we aim to make the admissions process as simple and smooth as possible for our prospective families. Our dedicated Admissions and 6th Form Team are here to ensure you have a seamless journey at the different entry points and are on hand to explain our entrance procedures, scholarships, bursaries and to organise a visit to our 6th Form centre.
Academic life in the 6th Form at Wisbech Grammar School provides pupils with a wide range of subjects available for study as linear courses, which forms the core educational experience. Pupils will usually choose 3 A Levels from a selection of over 20 subject options or a BTEC Diploma and follow their course for two years, before gaining qualifications which allow them access to university places, apprenticeships and the post A-level job market.
Next steps in admissions process
Step 1 - Enquire About A Place
Step 2 – Book a Personalised Tour of Our 6th Form Centre and Senior School
The best way to get to know the School is via a personal tour on a School day, and a meeting with the Headmaster and Head of 6th Form.
You will also be invited to take a personal tour of the 6th Form Centre, when any questions about options and subject choices you may have will be answered prior to your son or daughter joining us. We also run open events throughout the year which you are cordially invited to attend.
Step 3 - Register Your Child
The next step is to register your child by completing a Registration Form and supplying a copy of your child’s expected GCSE grades. Your registration will be confirmed once payment of the registration fee has been received.
If you require a Bursary or would like to know more about becoming a Scholar, please request our Bursary and/or Scholarship application pack
Step 4 - Offer of A Place Subject to Exam Results
Once you have registered, we have received your child’s expected grades for GCSE exams and you have met with the Headmaster, a place subject to confirming your exam results on results day will be offered. An Offer letter will be sent alongside parent contracts and acceptance forms.
If you have applied for a Bursary, an offer of a place is reserved for your son or daughter, subject to the outcomes of your Bursary application and decision of the Bursary panel.
Step 5 - Confirm Your Exam Results On GCSE Results Day
Please advise the Admissions Team of your results by telephone on 01945 586 750 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
