There are current opportunities at Wisbech Grammar School.

If you are a member of the Teaching Staff you will be expected to:

  • Teach and inspire our pupils with your subject and demonstrate passion and enthusiasm as you teach;
  • Be part of the School’s co-curricular activities programme adding a broad base to pupils interest and learning;
  • Be a form tutor supporting and guiding pupils;
  • Join in with our Sports curriculum and share a particular sporting expertise you may have.

If you are a member of the Support Staff you will be expected to;

  • Support pupils’ learning to create a positive learning environment;
  • Provide services to staff, pupils and parents that enable education and learning to take place;
  • Work with other Teaching and Support staff colleagues across the school.

Teacher of Maths (September 2020 start)

We require an outstanding, dynamic Teacher of Maths to work with pupils within KS3 to KS5, who has a proven ability to communicate their enthusiasm and passion for Maths, from September 2020.

You will be deeply committed to the success of every pupil and will have an excellent understanding of current educational thinking, demonstrating a proactive and innovative approach towards future developments in the subject. The post represents an excellent opportunity to share their expertise and love of the subject, and teach lessons which inspire and enthuse our pupils. Equally important are personality, aptitude, and initiative, the ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively at all levels.

Salary is according to Wisbech Grammar School’s own scale.

The post-holder must be committed to the safeguarding and promotion of the welfare of young people.

All members of the teaching staff are expected to assume a pastoral role within the School and to contribute to the School’s extra-curricular and activities programmes which may include assisting in Sports or Duke of Edinburgh for example.

Teacher of Science (September 2020 start)

Experience of teaching Science at KS2 and either Physics or Chemistry to A Level would be highly desirable. Senior IT Network Engineer (Full-time contract)

We have a new exciting opportunity for an individual to become the School’s Senior IT Network Engineer within the school.

The Network Engineer will be responsible for the administration of all school network systems, servers and desktop clients. This will require a wide technical ability for the management of Windows Server 2012 R2, Windows 10, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, File Permissions, Group Policy, AntiVirus Software (Sophos), MFD printer services (Papercut), VMWare ESXi, Backup Software (Veeam), Telephoney (PBX), VDI, Firewall and Web filtering (Smoothwall), e-Mail (Exchange), Databases and  and a variety of network and server hardware.

The Network Engineer will report to the Systems & Data Manager but will have strong working relationships with the ICT Support Technician and assign their daily tasks. They will be required to work with the staff to ensure that technical issues are investigated and resolved quickly and efficiently.

SENCO/Head of Learning Support to Senior School (September 2020)

As a SENCO (Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator), you’ll be responsible for supporting children with additional learning needs in the Senior School. You will need the skills required of a teacher for this role, and will also have the drive for education and those with specific learning needs.

You will have previous experience in this field and may already hold a SENCO position. You will be passionate about the role a SENCO undertakes within a school and will be able to strategically review, advise on and develop our Special Educational Needs provision.

You will need to work closely with the SENCO in Magdalene House, our Prep School, to ensure an overall SEN provision for all eligible pupils at Wisbech Grammar School.

Salary is according to Wisbech Grammar School’s own scale.
