There are current opportunities at Wisbech Grammar School.

If you are a member of the Teaching Staff you will be expected to:

  • Teach and inspire our pupils with your subject and demonstrate passion and enthusiasm as you teach;
  • Be part of the School’s co-curricular activities programme adding a broad base to pupils interest and learning;
  • Be a form tutor supporting and guiding pupils;
  • Join in with our Sports curriculum and share a particular sporting expertise you may have.

If you are a member of the Support Staff you will be expected to;

  • Support pupils’ learning to create a positive learning environment;
  • Provide services to staff, pupils and parents that enable education and learning to take place;
  • Work with other Teaching and Support staff colleagues across the school.

We are currently recruiting for the following vacancies:

SENCO/Head of Learning Support to Senior School (September 2020)

As a SENCO (Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator), you’ll be responsible for supporting children with additional learning needs in the Senior School. You will need the skills required of a teacher for this role, and will also have the drive for education and those with specific learning needs.

You will have previous experience in this field and may already hold a SENCO position. You will be passionate about the role a SENCO undertakes within a school and will be able to strategically review, advise on and develop our Special Educational Needs provision.

You will need to work closely with the SENCO in Magdalene House, our Prep School, to ensure an overall SEN provision for all eligible pupils at Wisbech Grammar School.

Salary is according to Wisbech Grammar School’s own scale.

The post-holder must be committed to the safeguarding and promotion of the welfare of young people.

Head of Rugby (September 2020)

We are looking for a dynamic, forward-thinking and committed Coach to take our Rugby programme forward and build upon the work of their predecessor.

The Head of Rugby is responsible for the development of the Rugby Programme throughout the Prep and Senior School.

They will oversee the planning and implementation of coaching sessions and selection by team coaches.They are also responsible for their own teams, ensuring sessions are planned and implemented. Coaching the 1st XV and taking their matches on a Saturday.

Rugby is the majority Sport for Boys in the Michaelmas term, with teams regularly playing from U9 to our School 1st XV (U18). In the Lent term we run a Sevens programme involving teams from U11 to U18 culminating in all age groups taking part in the Rosslyn Park Sevens. During the Lent term we also run a Girls Sevens programme for pupils in the 3rd to 6th Form.

The ideal candidate would also be expected to make a contribution to two other sports. (Hockey, Athletics and Cricket in the Lent and Trinity terms), as well as working alongside the School Physiotherapist in our Strength and conditioning and Elite Sport programmes

There is also the opportunity for the right candidate to take a pastoral role, by becoming involved in the International Boarding House

Head of Netball (September 2020)

We are looking for a dynamic, forward-thinking and committed Coach to take our Netball programme to the next level.

The Head of Netball is responsible for the development of the Netball Programme throughout the Prep and Senior School. They will oversee the planning and implementation of coaching sessions and selection by team coaches.

They are also responsible for their own teams, ensuring sessions are planned and implemented, coaching the 1st Vll and taking their matches on a Saturday.

Netball is the majority Sport for Girls in the Lent term, with teams regularly playing from U9 to our School 1st Vll (U18). We are looking for a dynamic, forward thinking and committed Coach to take our Netball programme forward and build upon the work done by their predecessor.

Matches are played every Saturday in the Lent term and the successful candidate would be expected to lead this Saturday programme, coaching the 1st Vll as well as watching and Umpiring junior teams when the 1st Vll schedule allows them to do so.

The ideal candidate would also be expected to make a contribution to two other sports. (Hockey, Athletics or Cricket in the Michaelmas and Trinity terms), as well as making a contribution to the Prep School PE programme throughout the year.
