If you are a member of the Teaching Staff you will be expected to:

  • Teach and inspire our pupils with your subject and demonstrate passion and enthusiasm as you teach;
  • Be part of the School’s co-curricular activities programme adding a broad base to pupils interest and learning;
  • Be a form tutor supporting and guiding pupils;
  • Join in with our Sports curriculum and share particular sporting expertise you may have.

If you are a member of the Support Staff you will be expected to;

  • Support pupils’ learning to create a positive learning environment;
  • Provide services to staff, pupils and parents that enable education and learning to take place;
  • Work with other Teaching and Support staff colleagues across the school.

New Vacancies

Prep School Teacher (KS2)

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic teacher with the ability to work within KS2 to join our team of dynamic staff from September 2020. The Prep School of Wisbech Grammar has seen steady growth over the past two years with the introduction of a new Kindergarten and our team of teachers always looking for ways to develop and enhance the educational experience for our young pupils as they progress through the school.

The post represents an excellent opportunity for a newly-qualified entrant into the profession or an experienced teacher who can share their expertise and love of teaching while inspiring and enthusing our pupils. An interest in Art, Drama, or Digital Literacy would be ideal but not essential. All members of the teaching staff are expected to assume a pastoral role within the School and to contribute to the School’s extra-curricular and activities programme.

Wisbech Grammar School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all its staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Resident Tutor (September 2020)

2019 saw the launch of an International Strategy and the first boarding House at Wisbech Grammar School.  From September 2020, the second International girls boarding house will open.

WGS aims to enable its boarding pupils to develop academically, socially, culturally, and emotionally in a homely and friendly environment, where mutual trust and respect between pupils and staff are the fundamental guiding principles on which boarding will be based.  All pupils are encouraged to live in harmony with one another.

The Resident Tutor is responsible to the Head of Boarding but will be line managed by the Houseparent(s).  He/ She will assist in the running of the House, work alongside the Head of Boarding and Houseparent and members of the House.

The aim of the post is to assist in the organisation and day to running of the House; to support the Head of Boarding and Houseparent(s) and to provide for the safety, good discipline and pastoral well-being of all pupils in the House.
