On Thursday 27 November, six pupils from our Charity Committee visited Tesco Wisbech to support the store’s three-day food collection for the Wisbech Foodbank.
During their two-hour shift, pupils helped to select items and create pre-packed food parcels that customers could buy and donate. They handed out leaflets to shoppers, encouraged donations and carefully packed each contribution that was handed in.
The response from the public was extraordinary. Many shoppers donated generously, including several who purchased full bags of shopping, and one customer who filled and donated an entire trolley of items. This kindness left a lasting impression on our volunteers.
At the end of the session, our pupils chose to go back into the store and purchase items themselves to donate – a heartfelt gesture that reflects their empathy and dedication to supporting others.
Across the full three-day collection, the Foodbank received an impressive 1,700kg of donations, providing a significant boost to local families in need.
We are incredibly proud of the pupils for representing the School with maturity, compassion and community spirit. Their hard work and kindness made a real difference.
