Green Careers Week Inspires Pupils to Explore Sustainable Futures

14th November 25

WGS recently celebrated Green Careers Week, focusing on helping pupils understand the expanding opportunities within sustainability and environmentally driven industries.
The week began with a Senior School assembly that introduced the concept of the Anthropocene and explored how human activity continues to shape the planet. Pupils examined the three pillars of sustainability – economic, social and environmental – and discussed how these relate to emerging green careers.
As part of the programme, five WGS alumni working in sustainability recorded short videos explaining their roles and offering guidance for pupils considering careers in this field. These were shared during tutor time and encouraged pupils to research the wide variety of pathways linked to sustainability.
We extend our thanks to our alumni for giving their time and expertise. Their contributions helped broaden pupils’ understanding of both sustainability-related careers and wider professional pathways.
