Former pupil finds his ‘fizz’ as an apprentice at Coca-Cola

On Friday 31 January alumnus Matt Holden (2017) returned to Wisbech Grammar School to talk to the current 4th – 6th Form pupils about his journey to Account Manager with Coca-Cola European Partners PLC.

Matt graduated WGS with A-Levels in English, Business and Spanish before taking on an Apprenticeship with Coca-Cola. He has progressed through to working with some of the top bars, restaurants and venue in and around London and the Covent Garden area, including eight of the top 100 most exclusive bars in the world.

Matt said on his talk: “It was great to come back and see so many supportive teachers who helped me find a pathway after education that worked for me and suited my goals. It’s fantastic to see the strides the school are making at the moment to keep themselves at the forefront of education”.

Alex Laybourne, Deputy Head of 6th Form and Head of Careers said: “It was fantastic to welcome Matt back to speak to our pupils. I had the pleasure of tutoring Matt and I am pleased with how has gone on to do some great things so early on in his career. I am hopeful that his story can act as an inspiration and motivation to our current crop of fantastic pupils”.
