Wednesday 11 December 2019 was a very special day in the calendar and one that everyone has looked forward to for weeks. Not only were Wisbech Grammar School enjoying Christmas Congo and Christmas lunch, but they got to wear Christmas jumpers to raise money for Scotty’s Little Soldiers.
Scotty’s Little Soldiers is a charity dedicated to supporting children and young people who have lost a parent whilst serving in the British Armed Forces. Inspired by the experience of Army widow Nikki Scott following the death of her husband Cpl Lee Scott in Afghanistan in 2009, the charity is currently providing assistance to hundreds of bereaved Forces children around the UK.
“We are delighted to be supporting this very worthwhile charity again and this year we have raised £302. Thank you to everyone who got into the festive spirit by wearing their Christmas jumper and got into the spirit of fundraising” Miss Kate Taylor, Head of 6th Form and Charity Committee.
