It has been a busy and successful start to the term for the netball teams at Wisbech Grammar School. With some impressive wins across all the teams; all showing hard work and determination in their games.

The 1st VII played their first fixture against Ratcliffe away, winning 35-29. They followed this up with a win at home against Kings Ely, 19-16. This has been an outstanding start by a new group of players, who are still building connections on court.

Mrs Goodier, Head of Netball said “I am really pleased with the start we have made; with continued hard work and dedication in training, I am excited to see how the team develops and perform over the rest of the season”.

The Greyhounds also had a convincing win against Ely, notching up a 34-5 victory.

The U14’s are also having an excellent start to the season. The A team beat Ratcliffe 25-13 and then backed this up with another display of disciplined and skilful netball against King’s School Ely, winning 33-26.

The U12’s played their first set of netball fixtures against Radcliffe and for many of the B team it was their first competitive netball match. They learnt a great deal about the game and enjoyed their experience; narrowly losing 8-7.

The U11’s all played their first fixture last Wednesday. In challenging conditions, the U11A and B teams played in a Festival of Netball held at Stamford school. The B team won two of their four matches and the U11A’s won four out of four of theirs, beating Stamford, Copthill, Leicester Grammar and The Peterborough School.
