Track and Field champs take up the challenge
On Saturday 12 May 2018, WGS took 30 athletes to compete in the Cambridgeshire AA Championships at the Embankment Stadium, Peterborough.
There were several outstanding performances on the day with WGS Athletes winning podium places, as well as breaking School Records and setting Personal Best times in all age groups. We would like to congratulate all the pupils who took part in the competition.
The following pupils gained medals in their events:

U13 Shot – Alfie Hoyles, 8.92m
U13 High Jump – Freddie Allen, 1.40m
U13 Long Jump – Lewis Wing, 4.44m
U15 Shot – Emily Thomas, 8.99m
U15 100m – Ethan Jones, 12.44s
2nd Place – Silver Medal
U13 Long Jump – Freddie Allen, 4.41m
U13 Hurdles – Harrison Smith, 15.58s
U15 300m – Oliver Coles, 41.15s
U15 Shot – Harvey King, 10.36m
U17 Discus – Aimee Newman 17.17m
3rd Place – Bronze Medal
U13 100m – Lewis Wing, 13.50s
U15 Triple Jump – Lucy Prior, 8.77m
U15 Discus – Hannah Smith, 17.00m
U17 Shot – George Dady, 10.69m
