Speech & Drama syllabus on target for success

12th January 18

On Thursday 11 January 2018,  the Drama department hosted a visit by Ms Sue Clarke, Schools Drama Consultant for Trinity College, London to discuss the opportunities offered by the new Speech & Drama syllabus. While here, she met some of our pupils to discuss their experience of lessons and performance exams, and to discover what benefits a resident Speech & Drama teacher can make throughout the School.  Ms Clarke, an ex-Drama teacher herself, commended the School on its Drama and Dance facilities and was delighted by the pupils’ comments who explained eloquently why they like the choices between solo, group or paired work, the way that the technical skills supports their performances both in and out of School, and how they value the comments on their exam reports which give clear indicators how to improve.  She wished the pupils well for their forthcoming exams and was impressed by the range of syllabuses being delivered to such a broad age range across both Wisbech Grammar School and Magdalene House.
