Today we celebrated our pupil’s GCSE results – a culmination of hard work, personal growth, and the dedicated support of staff and families.
The School marked another strong year of academic achievement, with a significant number of pupils achieving top grades across a wide range of subjects. Just as importantly, pupils were recognised for their commitment, effort and the maturity with which they approached the challenges of their GCSE years.
“Today we celebrate more than exam results. These achievements reflect the resilience and integrity that our pupils have developed during their time at WGS. Their success is personal, unique, and deeply deserved.
“Our role as a school is to nurture each young person’s strengths, support them through their challenges and help them discover who they are. I am proud not only of the grades achieved, but of the confidence and character we see in every pupil.” – Mr Rimmer, Headmaster.
This year’s results are testament to the WGS approach – where success is defined individually, and learning is supported by expert teaching and a caring, inclusive community. As noted in the school’s most recent ISI report: “Pupils appreciate the bespoke feedback provided by teachers and are keen to push their learning further.”
This dedication to personal progress was echoed by pupils across the year group.
Trystan, one of the school’s highest achievers, reflected: “If you are struggling or need help, speak to staff.”
Benjamin E, who will remain at WGS to study Maths, Further Maths, Biology and Chemistry, added: “If you prepare enough you can get top grades in anything”
Isla K also added “Social media can wait, you only get this one chance to do it!”
Outstanding Individual Achievements Include:
Jennifer B (WGS Prep) – 6 Grade 9s (10 GCSEs grades 7–9)
Benjamin E (North Wootton Academy) – 3 Grade 9s (9 GCSEs grades 6–9; Extended Maths – grade B)
Jack R-A – 3 Grade 9s (9 GCSEs grades 6–9)
Nabiha H (WGS Prep) – 2 Grade 9s (10 GCSEs grades 7-9)
From the broad curriculum to creative arts, sport, and enrichment activities, WGS offers an environment where every pupil is encouraged to try, grow, and thrive. The School remains committed to creating a learning experience that is as ambitious as it is supportive – big enough to offer opportunity, small enough to truly know each child.
Mr Rimmer concluded:
“What matters most to us is that every pupil feels known, valued, and ready for the future. Whether they achieved 9s or overcame personal challenges to reach their goals, we are proud of every step they have taken. These are young people of strength, spirit, and potential, and this is only the beginning.”
