WGS Celebrates Outstanding Alevel Results

14th August 25

Pupils at Wisbech Grammar School are once again celebrating an exceptional year of Alevel results – achievements that reflect not only academic success, but the school’s commitment to nurturing individual growth, fostering confidence, and cultivating a strong and inclusive community.
This year’s leavers have flourished in an environment where they have been supported to discover who they are, encouraged to try, succeed, and adapt, guided every step of the way toward realising their potential.
Headmaster, Mr Rimmer praised pupils:
“We are proud of every single pupil, not only for their achievements on paper, but for the spirit, character and commitment they have shown throughout their time at WGS. These results are just one part of a much bigger story, where personal development, ambition and community matter just as much.
Our pupils leave with more than grades, they leave with a deep sense of who they are and how they want to shape the world around them. That is the true measure of success.”
WGS’s commitment to tailored learning and individual support is central to its approach. As highlighted in the school’s recent ISI inspection, “leaders have facilitated a curriculum which puts the pupils’ abilities and aspirations at its heart,” enabling pupils to make informed, meaningful choices about their futures.
Pupils benefit from expert teaching, bespoke feedback and a caring network of staff and peers who know their strengths, challenges, and dreams. The community ethos was clear on results day, as pupils, families, and staff celebrated together marking the beginning of their university, apprenticeship, or career journeys.
WGS continues to see pupils thrive across a range of pathways, whether that is a first-choice Russell Group university, a competitive degree apprenticeship, or direct entry into the workforce. This broad range of destinations/offers/pathways is underpinned by effective careers guidance that ensures pupils are well-prepared for the future, with personalised support to match.
What sets WGS apart is not only its academic rigour, but also the spirit of collaboration and compassion that runs through every aspect of school life. Pupils are encouraged to take ownership of their learning, embrace new experiences, and build the skills they need to succeed beyond the classroom.
“Wisbech Grammar has been more than a place of learning; it has been a community that supported me through celebration and challenge. Studying medicine has been my lifelong dream – and now, with two medical offers in hand, I owe so much of that to this incredible community. The unwavering support I’ve received from staff through revision, UCAS stress, self-doubt, and joyful milestones has been truly special. The bonds I’ve formed with teachers go beyond the classroom; they’ve believed in me and helped build the resilience and determination I’ll carry into my future.” – Dillany J
