Inaugural WGS Cricket Academy hailed as a real success

The inaugural WGS Cricket Academy has proved a real success, with local cricketers aged between 9 and 14 years having great fun, whilst improving their cricket skills. Over 30 boys and girls have attended the 9 sessions led by WGS Coaches Neil Taylor and James Williams. Both coaches have considerable experience of coaching young cricketers. Neil Taylor is involved with Norfolk Youth Cricket as Chairman and County Age Group coach and James Williams is the Cambridgeshire Director of Performance and Player Development and Cambridgeshire 1st XI captain

They have been ably assisted by ex Norfolk player and ECB Level 2 coach Peter Coote, and current Norfolk opening bowler and ECB Level 2 coach Ben Coote.

The sessions have focused on the technical, tactical, physical and mental aspects of cricket. All the young players have shown significant improvements and a passion for the game.

Thanks must go to WGS Director of Sport, Phil Webb for all his hard work in organising the Academy. We hope all the players have an enjoyable and successful season.
