How to Apply
We understand that choosing the right school and getting the right support for your child is a big decision and we aim to make the admissions process as simple and smooth as possible for our prospective families. Our dedicated admissions team are here to ensure you have a seamless journey at the different entry points and are on hand to explain our entrance procedures, scholarships, bursaries and to organise a visit.
The main entry points are at ages 3 (Kindergarten), age 9 (Prep 5), age 11 (1st Form) age 13 (3rd Form) and aged 16 (6th Form). However, children often join in other year groups’ through the academic year. If you would like to discuss entry for your child, please do not hesitate to contact us online, email us or telephone the Admissions Team on 01945 586750.
In the first instance whatever year group you are looking for, we encourage you to arrange a visit to our School, and after your visit, we can discuss next steps for you and your child. There are many opportunities to visit our School, and we welcome prospective families to be part of our community.
How do I organise an individual visit?
Individual visits take place on week days and last around 2 hours; this includes a tour of either Prep or Senior School and a discussions with the Headmaster or Deputy Head and key teaching staff . Tours are conducted by current pupils, so there is an opportunity to ask questions and find out as much as possible about the School. Visits can be booked by contacting the admissions team on 01945 586 750
What is a Taster Day?
Taster Day is a day set up where your child can spend the day with their year group and really experience what it is like to be a pupil at Wisbech Grammar School. We would ask you to register your child beforehand and usually, on a Taster day, we will also organise the entry assessments.
When are our Open Events?
Our open events take place throughout the year, and more information on these dates are posted on our website. We run a series of events across Kindergarten, Prep and Senior School to help welcome new prospective families into our community. Throughout the year we also run workshops including Science mornings, Sports Camps and many more.
